  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Boil the sweet potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot.
  3. Add the butter, bourbon, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the sweet potatoes.
  4. Mash the sweet potatoes until smooth and creamy.
  5. Stir in the chopped pecans, reserving some for topping.
  6. Transfer the mash to a serving dish and sprinkle with remaining pecans.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
