  • 4 medium whole onions
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel onions, leaving the root intact.
  3. Cut a small slice off the top of each onion.
  4. Place onions in a baking dish.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and dot with butter.
  6. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and brown sugar over onions.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until soft and caramelized.
  8. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar before serving.
