Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheese over the potatoes.
  5. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Heat until warm.
  6. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
