“3 Irresistible Christmas Gingerbread Cookies

A simple recipe for festive Christmas gingerbread cookies, perfect for decorating and sharing during the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup molasses

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and molasses.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
  5. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool completely before decorating.

Notes

  • Chill dough for 1 hour if too soft.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Decorate with royal icing and sprinkles.
