Classic smash burger

A classic smash burger is a deliciously juicy and flavorful burger made by smashing a beef patty onto a hot grill, creating a crispy exterior while keeping the inside tender and juicy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (American or cheddar)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles
  • Ketchup and mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form loose balls.
  3. Place the beef balls on the hot grill and smash them down with a spatula to form thin patties.
  4. Season the patties with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy.
  6. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on each one.
  7. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  8. Toast the burger buns on the grill for a minute.
  9. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and your choice of condiments.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For best results, use a high-fat content ground beef for juiciness.
  • Do not overcrowd the grill; cook in batches if necessary.
  • Feel free to customize toppings according to your preference.
