Grilled over medium heat and served on toasted buns, these irresistible burgers are perfect for backyard cookouts, weeknight dinners, or anytime you’re craving big comfort food flavor.
1 ½ lb ground chuck (or ground beef)
3 Tbsp sour cream
2 Tbsp ranch dressing mix
⅓ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Hamburger buns
Lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayo (for topping)
Optional: olive oil for grilling
Optional: sunflower seed butter for a nutty twist
Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, gently mix the ground beef, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.
Form Patties
Shape the mixture into 6 equal-sized patties. Press a small dimple in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
Grill Patties
Preheat your grill or skillet to medium heat and brush lightly with olive oil. Grill the burgers until they reach your desired doneness:
Medium-rare: 130–135°F
Medium: 140–145°F
Well-done: 160°F
Flip carefully and avoid pressing down on the patties.
Rest and Serve
Let the burgers rest for 5 minutes. Serve on toasted buns with your favorite toppings.
For extra flavor, try spreading a thin layer of sunflower seed butter on the bun.
You can make patties ahead of time and refrigerate up to 24 hours or freeze for later use.
Great with sweet potato fries or grilled vegetables.
