Ingredients

Scale

For the Crispy Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Caesar Dressing:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Assembling the Sandwich:

  • 4 slices crusty bread (ciabatta or sourdough)

  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped

  • ¼ cup fresh grated parmesan cheese

  • Optional: crispy bacon, sliced tomatoes

Instructions

  • Slice chicken breasts into thin cutlets. Pat dry with a paper towel and marinate in buttermilk for 30 minutes.

  • Mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Dredge marinated chicken in flour mixture.

  • Heat oil in skillet. Fry chicken cutlets until golden brown, about 4–5 minutes per side. Transfer to wire rack.

  • Whisk dressing ingredients together or use store bought caesar dressing.

  • Toast bread lightly. Assemble sandwiches with dressing, lettuce, crispy chicken, fresh grated parmesan, and optional toppings.

Notes

For a lighter option, grill the chicken instead of frying. Leftover components can be stored separately and assembled fresh for each serving.
