2 lbs beef chuck steak
1 onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried thyme
2 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
Place steak in the crockpot.
Add onion and garlic on top.
Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the steak.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and thyme.
Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
If desired, mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and stir into the liquid to thicken the sauce.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
For best results, don’t open the lid during cooking.
You can substitute chuck steak with round steak.
Add vegetables like carrots or mushrooms if desired.
