These Easy Baked Apple Fritters are soft, spiced, and filled with tender chunks of apple. A healthier twist on the classic, they’re baked instead of fried and drizzled with a simple vanilla glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Dry Ingredients

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour

    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

    • 2 teaspoons baking powder

    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • Wet Ingredients

    • 2 large eggs

    • 1/2 cup whole milk

    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • Filling

    • 1 1/2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)

  • Optional Glaze

    • 1 cup powdered sugar

    • 23 tablespoons milk

    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.

  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in diced apples.

  • Scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet using a spoon or cookie scoop.

  • Bake for 14–16 minutes, or until golden brown and set.

  • While fritters bake, whisk together the glaze ingredients in a small bowl.

  • Let fritters cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the batter—this keeps the fritters light and tender.

  • You can skip the glaze or replace it with a dusting of powdered sugar.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
