1 lb ground beef
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
4 cups chicken broth
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then add the broken lasagna noodles.
Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, or until noodles are tender.
Serve hot, topped with ricotta, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese.
Notes
Use Italian sausage instead of ground beef for extra flavor.
Top with fresh basil for garnish if desired.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
