1 box of cake mix (any flavor)
1 cup of frosting (any flavor)
1 package of candy melts (white)
1 tube of red gel icing
1 package of small round candies (for the iris)
Lollipop sticks
Wax paper
Instructions
Bake the cake according to the package instructions and let it cool completely.
Crumble the cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl.
Mix in the frosting until the mixture holds together.
Roll the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
Insert a lollipop stick into each ball and freeze for about 15 minutes.
Melt the candy melts according to the package instructions.
Dip each cake pop into the melted candy, ensuring it’s fully coated.
Place a small round candy in the center of each pop for the iris.
Use the red gel icing to create veins around the iris.
Let the cake pops set completely before serving.
Notes
You can use any flavor of cake and frosting to suit your taste.
Make sure the cake pops are fully frozen before dipping to prevent them from falling apart.
Use a Styrofoam block to hold the cake pops upright while they set.
