Family-Style Lasagna

A delicious and hearty family-style lasagna that brings everyone together around the dinner table.

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat; drain excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, half of the meat mixture, and a third of the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with a final layer of noodles, marinara sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the meat with sautéed vegetables.
  • Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
  • Leftovers can be frozen for up to 3 months.
