A delightful tart combining the flavors of floral rose and crunchy pistachios, inspired by traditional baklava.

  • 1 cup pistachios, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, honey, and bring to a boil. Stir in rose water and vanilla extract, then remove from heat.
  3. In a bowl, mix chopped pistachios with ground cinnamon.
  4. Layer phyllo dough in a tart pan, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  5. Spread the pistachio mixture evenly over the phyllo layers.
  6. Continue layering phyllo dough, brushing with butter, until all dough is used.
  7. Cut the tart into diamond shapes before baking.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Pour the syrup over the tart while still hot and let it soak.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.

  • Ensure to keep the phyllo dough covered to prevent it from drying out.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of sugar in the syrup.
  • For a more intense rose flavor, increase the rose water slightly.
