  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Divide batter evenly among cupcake liners, filling each 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool completely before frosting.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature ingredients for best results.
