Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are made with soft brioche or challah, layered with sweetened cream cheese, fresh strawberries, and strawberry jam. Dipped in a custard and pan-fried to crisp perfection, these golden, creamy sandwiches are a decadent treat perfect for brunch or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of brioche or challah bread

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (plus more for dusting)

  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, sliced

  • ¼ cup strawberry jam

  • 2 large eggs

  • 3 tbsp milk

  • 2 tbsp butter (for frying)

Instructions

  • Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.

  • Assemble Sandwiches
Spread the sweetened cream cheese on 4 slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and a bit of jam. Cover with remaining bread slices to make sandwiches.

  • Make the Custard
In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.

  • Dip and Fry
Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides. Fry for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.

  • Serve
Transfer to a plate and dust with powdered sugar. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Brioche and challah hold up best and offer rich flavor.

  • Do not overfill sandwiches to prevent leaking while frying.

  • These are best served immediately for the crispiest texture.
