Giant Sugar Cookies Recipe

Easy-to-make giant sugar cookies that are soft, chewy, and perfectly sweet.

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Scoop large portions of dough (about 1/4 cup each) onto the baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • For extra sweetness, roll dough balls in granulated sugar before baking.
