  • 1 cup spring onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the pork shoulder with black pepper and sear on all sides until browned.
  3. Add minced garlic and chopped spring onions, sautéing until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
  6. Simmer for 2-3 hours until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
  7. Remove the pork, shred it, and return it to the pot to mix with the sauce.
  8. Serve hot with additional spring onions on top.
