  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the honey (or maple syrup), melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
