  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup flaxseeds
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, rolled oats, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add honey and warm water to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover the loaf and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a nuttier flavor, you can add chopped nuts to the dough.
  • Store the bread in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
  • This bread can be sliced and frozen for later use.
