Classic Milkshake Recipe made with vanilla ice cream, whole milk, and your favorite toppings. Quick, creamy, and perfect for homemade shakes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint ice cream (about 2 cups)
  • 2/3 cup milk, preferably whole
  • Flavor boost options:
  • 1 tablespoon malted milk powder or powdered milk
  • 1 tablespoon strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla or chocolate syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or espresso powder
  • Mix-in and topping options:
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped candy, nuts, cookies, or fruit
  • Chocolate syrup or sauce
  • Caramel sauce
  • Whipped cream
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Sprinkles
  • Finely chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Let the ice cream sit at room temperature until it begins to soften.
  2. Chill your milkshake glasses in the freezer or fridge.
  3. Add milk to a blender, followed by any flavor boosters you’re using, then the softened ice cream.
  4. Blend on low, increasing to medium speed until smooth and pourable.
  5. Add mix-ins like chopped candy or cookies. Pulse gently to combine without overmixing.
  6. Drizzle chocolate syrup or caramel sauce into chilled glasses, pour in the milkshake, and top with whipped cream, sprinkles, or chopped nuts.

Notes

Use full-fat vanilla ice cream for best results. Flavor boosts like strawberry jam or espresso powder add depth. Don’t over-blend mix-ins to keep the texture. Enjoy immediately.
