Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • (Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper
  • In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, sugar, egg, and melted butter. Stir until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  • Fold in any optional add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of cinnamon or a splash of vanilla extract.
  • Use very ripe bananas (with brown spots) for best results.
  • This banana bread freezes well—wrap slices individually for easy grab-and-go snacks.
  • You can reduce the sugar slightly for a less sweet loaf.
