Keto Shepherd’s Pie is a delicious low-carb version of the classic dish, made with ground meat and topped with creamy cauliflower mash.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups cauliflower florets
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef or lamb and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in carrots and peas, then add beef broth. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, steam cauliflower florets until tender, then blend with cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish and top with cauliflower mash.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top if desired.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add chili flakes to the meat mixture.
  • Can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • Make sure to drain excess liquid from the meat mixture before baking.
