Korean Sweet Soy Garlic Shrimp

A quick and flavorful Korean dish featuring shrimp cooked in a sweet soy garlic sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or as a side dish.

  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 green onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp and cook for 2 minutes until pink.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, and rice vinegar. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  5. Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle sesame seeds and green onion.
  6. Serve hot with rice or as a side.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp for best texture.
  • Adjust sweetness with more or less honey.
  • Cook shrimp quickly to avoid toughness.
