Make Ahead Herb Stuffing

A flavorful herb stuffing that you can prepare ahead of time, perfect for holidays or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups cubed bread (stale or toasted)
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, sauté onion and celery in butter until soft.
  3. Add sage, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Combine sautéed mixture with bread cubes in a large bowl.
  5. Gradually pour broth over the mixture, stirring until evenly moistened.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes.

Notes

  • Use stale bread for best texture.
  • Can be refrigerated overnight before baking.
  • Adjust herbs to taste.
