For the Bars:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)

  • ½ cup pure maple syrup

  • ½ cup milk (whole or non-dairy)

  • ¼ cup melted butter (cooled)

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (optional)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp maple extract (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

  • In another bowl, beat eggs, maple syrup, milk, and melted butter until smooth.

  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until combined.

  • Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

 

  • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and maple extract until smooth, then drizzle over cooled bars.

Notes

  • Use pure maple syrup for the best flavor.

  • For a richer taste, add 2 tbsp brown sugar to the batter.

 

  • Bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
