Take a nostalgic trip back to the cafeteria lunches of the ’70s and ’80s with these Old School Pizza Burgers! A savory mix of ground beef, zesty tomato sauce, and gooey cheese on toasted buns perfect for a quick family dinner or game night

Ingredients

→ Meat Mixture

  •  1 pound lean ground beef
  •  1 cup pizza sauce
  •  1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

→ Assembly

  •  6 hamburger buns, split in half
  •  1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet.
  2. Cook ground beef in a skillet until browned (6–8 min).
  3. Drain fat, add Italian seasoning, cook 1 min.
  4. Stir in pizza sauce, simmer 3–4 min.
  5. Arrange bun halves cut-side up on baking sheet.
  6. Spoon beef mixture onto buns.
  7. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake 10–12 min until cheese is melted and golden.
  9. Cool 2–3 min and serve open-faced or with top bun.

Notes

  • Try adding chopped pepperoni or mushrooms for extra pizza flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
