Pigs in a blanket

Pigs in a blanket are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer featuring small sausages wrapped in flaky pastry dough.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of cocktail sausages (about 12 oz)
  • 1 package of crescent roll dough (8 oz)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: mustard or ketchup for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  3. Place one cocktail sausage at the wide end of each triangle.
  4. Roll the dough around the sausage, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point.
  5. Place the wrapped sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the wrapped sausages for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with mustard or ketchup for dipping.

Notes

  • For a twist, try adding cheese inside the dough with the sausage.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
