  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Black icing or melted chocolate (for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, pumpkin spice, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugars until smooth. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until a dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into small balls, flatten slightly, and place on baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden. Let cool.
  7. Use black icing or melted chocolate to draw skeleton bones on each cookie.

Notes

  • Chill dough for 30 minutes if it’s too sticky.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
