  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 whole grain burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • Condiments of choice (ketchup, mustard, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with sea salt and black pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  4. Brush the grill or skillet with olive oil.
  5. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  6. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
  7. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  8. Assemble the burgers by placing the patty on the bun and adding lettuce, tomato, onion, and condiments.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!
