Sweet Chili Glazed Korean Meatballs

Sweet and spicy Korean-style meatballs glazed with a sweet chili sauce.

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  5. In a saucepan, combine sweet chili sauce, honey, and rice vinegar. Heat over medium-low until slightly thickened.
  6. Toss the cooked meatballs in the glaze. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes to the glaze.
  • Use ground chicken or pork as an alternative.
  • Serve with steamed rice or as an appetizer.
