Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese Casserole

A comforting casserole that combines the classic flavors of tomato soup and grilled cheese into one easy dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (10.75 oz each) condensed tomato soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 slices white or whole wheat bread
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix tomato soup, milk, and water until smooth.
  3. Spread half the bread slices in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle half the cheese over the bread.
  5. Layer remaining bread slices on top.
  6. Pour tomato soup mixture evenly over the bread.
  7. Top with remaining cheese.
  8. Drizzle melted butter over the cheese.
  9. Sprinkle garlic powder and basil on top.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for better texture.
  • Add cooked bacon or ham for extra flavor.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
