Truffle Mac and Cheese with Crispy Bacon

A rich and creamy mac and cheese dish elevated with truffle flavor and crispy bacon.

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp truffle oil
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to make a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Cook until thickened.
  5. Add truffle oil, cheddar, and Parmesan. Stir until cheese melts.
  6. Mix in cooked macaroni and bacon. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Transfer to a baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  8. Broil for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy.
