Delicious vegan black bean burgers that are so tasty, even meat-lovers will enjoy them.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
  3. Add breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, olive oil, soy sauce, and cilantro. Mix until well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into patties.
  5. Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until heated through and slightly crispy.
  6. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For a spicier burger, add diced jalapeños to the mixture.
  • These burgers can be frozen before cooking for later use.
  • Serve with avocado, lettuce, and tomato for a fresh taste.
