Veggie Black Bean Burger

A delicious veggie black bean burger packed with protein and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Mash black beans in a bowl.
  2. Add breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, egg, cumin, chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Form mixture into 4 patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Cook patties for 4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Serve on buns with toppings.

Notes

  • For crispier patties, bake at 375°F for 10 minutes per side.
  • Patties freeze well for up to 3 months.
